The Farm and Farmer

Luvia Felisa is the driving behind Finca El Faldón, a delightful coffee farm situated only 30 kilometers from the capital of Palencia. Named after her grandfather, Luvia operates the farm with her husband, Juan Jose, and they have turned it into a sanctuary for specialty coffee.

Five years ago, coffee wasn’t the main crop here—tomatoes, corn, and beans also had their place. But Luvia saw the potential in coffee and fell head over heels for it. Now, it’s the star of the show, proving to be both sustainable and profitable.

Special Practices

Luvia’s passion for high-quality coffee transformed farming practices, ensuring meticulous care from fertilisation to harvesting for sustainable results. While Juan was overseas, she managed the farm, overseeing operations, hiring staff, and engaging with buyers. Together, they now innovate and enhance their methods.

The cherries are grown under shade trees and once they have reached their optimal ripeness, they are picked. The cherries are washed to remove the outer pulp and are sun-dried on patios for 8 days until they have reached the desired moisture level. Luvia’s meticulous processing is key to achieving that exceptional quality in your cup, and we truly believe it makes all the difference.
